Strong results, bright future.

As we move through another busy period, I wanted to take the opportunity to thank everyone across Brownline for your contribution to what has been a very successful financial year.

Strong results are always the outcome of lots of individual efforts coming together, and everyone should be proud of what has been achieved. The good news (depending on your perspective!) is that this year is proving to be just as busy, with strong demand across our markets and plenty of opportunities ahead of us.

Exciting developments underway

  • Our Canadian operation has been moved into a new facility, providing a better working environment for the team and additional capacity to support future growth. This is an important investment in both the business and our people, and I look forward to seeing the team settled into their new home. Curious? Take a look at Canada’s contribution in this newsletter.

  • We continue to invest in R&D and make good progress across several key projects. The FCB (Field Control Box) programme continues to move forward. We have encountered some challenges with heat dissipation, which is engineering's way of reminding us that innovation is rarely as straightforward as the PowerPoint suggested! The objective remains a single-case solution and the team continues to make good progress towards that goal.

  • Wireless GST2 development is also progressing well, with some very encouraging test results. Whilst there is still work to do, the project continues to move in the right direction and the early results are very promising.

  • Autopilot remains a key pillar of our strategy and an important part of Brownline's future. Please continue looking for opportunities to test, demonstrate and promote the system wherever possible. Every deployment teaches us something and helps strengthen both the product and our market proposition. The more we use it, the better it gets, and the faster we learn.

New Managing Director: Michiel Schoenmaeckers

Finally, the big news: as previously announced, Michiel Schoenmaeckers will be joining Brownline as Managing Director on 31 August.

Until then, don't worry, you're still stuck with me for a few more months yet!

My focus remains on supporting the team, supporting our customers and ensuring Brownline is in the strongest possible position for the future. I know Michiel is looking forward to joining Brownline later this summer and I hope you'll give him a warm welcome when he arrives. Please wait until then before telling him all the things I've been doing wrong.

Before I finish, I also wanted to thank everyone for their patience over the last few years. Brownline has had more CEOs and Managing Directors than any of us would have liked, yet the business has continued to grow, innovate and deliver for customers. That says a great deal about the people in this organisation.

With Michiel joining on 31 August, I'm optimistic we've finally found someone willing to stay long enough to have a second annual appraisal! Joking aside, I know he will inherit a business with strong foundations, great people and an exciting future.

Need your help

As many of you know, we also have a number of vacancies across the business. Finding great people remains one of the most important things we do. If you know someone who would be a good addition to the team, please let Nike know. Some of our best hires come through recommendations from existing employees, and all current vacancies can be found on our website.

Thanks a lot

One thing that has stood out to me since joining Brownline is the quality of the people. I have genuinely enjoyed getting to know many of you over the last few months and seeing first-hand the commitment, professionalism and expertise that exists throughout the organisation.

Thank you again for everything you do. Brownline has a lot to be excited about and I look forward to seeing the business continue to grow and succeed.

Thanks again and see you soon.

Graham
